Welcome to Soroptimist International of Williamsburg.
Soroptimist www.soroptimist.org is an international organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world. Almost 95,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects that benefit women and girls.
The majority of Soroptimist's work to improve the lives of women and girls is done at the local club level. Soroptimist. The Williamsburg Club was formed in 1948 by 20 local women. Currently 38 members, women from the community, provide scholarships to local high school students, Women's Opportunity Award for a woman who is the head of her household, and financial and volunteer support to help women throughout the Williamsburg community.

The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women", and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best. The Williamsburg Club supports the Soroptimist Federation's programs including the Violet Richardson Award and the Best for Women's award.
